The Department of Petroleum Technology was established in 2011, which offers B. Tech in Petroleum Technology &M.Tech in Petroleum Engineering. Which aims to offer the students innovative teaching and research facilities to create and apply the innovative technologies in Drilling Engineering, Production Engineering, Reservoir Engineering and Geology with special interest to Engineering Geology and Petroleum Geology and also efficiently develop their knowledge and skills to find the solutions for any problems related to the oil and gas industry.
The Department also organizes many workshops/seminars and consultancy. Which has also developed a very strong industry-institution relationship that is unique in the country. The department has highly qualified faculty and technical staff who contribute to the development of the young minds.
The students undergo summer training at reputed oil and gas organizations like ONGC, Reliance, HPCL, BPCL etc. In the current session and in the recent past OFI, L&T, Tech Mahindra have been the foremost recruiters through campus interviews.
The department has a high computation laboratories equipped with petroleum engineering softwares such as CMG, MATLab and ASPEN HYSIS. Which also hosts an excellent Laboratories like Drilling Fluids, Reservoir engineering, Petroleum Analysis and instrumentation process control
